Asian Tea Presentation
It was a good talk, organized by Rebecca at the public library tonight regarding Asian Tea Culture - Green Tea. I enjoyed the presentation on IF and HOW Japanese Tea Ceremony can become a form of cultural and social meeting place in modern society? Is Japanese Tea Ceremony is a form of religion? Western anthopologies would say YES, however the Japanese would say NO. Japanese would rather claim that tea ceremony is just their way "DO" of doing things and it can be introduced to others. People can gather to drink tea...In that sense, does the Japanese tea ceremory offer a possible model for social gathering in our modern societies, especially for country like Canada, which is constituted of people from various cultural backgrounds...It is an interesting and valid question to ask.
